I'm translating a Mac resource file on another machine. I've got a routine
that parses past the system resource list and reads the application
resources. This data is roughly organized as a tree – each node has four
links to other nodes. Each application resource record includes the
resource ID of the other four adjacent records. I'm trying to determine the
correspondence between these "GetResource" type IDs, which range from 1..N,
and the numbers stored in each record. It's close, but not quite. For
example, in one file started with five non-relevant app resources I skip,
followed by 34 records, but these referenced nodes ranging from 1 to 40,
with the IDS 20 and 22-27 remaining unreferenced. I did find all the
records I expected. How does the Resource Manager map the correspondence
between resource IDs and the index of entries in the application resource
array?
