#Vidtex

Can you tell me if MSS is going to come out with a Vidtex option for
ONLINfor the Amiga? Also I would like to know how I can make a script file
that will enable the SAY command to say all that apears on the screen…
like when I'm on a board.
Tim,
Thank you for your suggestion about Vidtex. We will include it in our list for
program changes.
The SAY command cannot be used in an Online! script to redirect input to the
narrator device. Why? It would slow things to a painful pace. You'd have data
backing-up to Columbus.

Rawls,
If that's the only reason, it isn't good enough. Why not give the user the
choice? If it is too slow for a given application, they will not use it for
that application. There are a number of terminal programs that allow voice
(CTV, Cocomm, to name two), and they work quite well in the environment for
which they don't need blazing speed.
If you just don't want to put it in, just say so, but please, don't tell
Amiga owners they can't have something because you don't think it would be fast
enough.
Regards, Larry.
