That's what I suspected. Using Max Toy's name at the end threw me a curve
though. Thanks.
Claude,
If *I* put the name Max Toy at the bottom of this message, would it
through you a curve? No, I don't think so. Beware of reading your own hopes
into messages of this sort. There are enough lunatics out there that like to
"get a rise" out of people by leaving inflamitory messages (remember the ST
wars some months back?). This particular "message" preyed on some of our
collective *hopes*.
Lloyd
Lloyd,
it was perfectly obvious that it was a joke when it showed up on Usenet.
Regards, Larry.
Larry,
But as is obvious by it's being posted here 5 times now that some folks
took it as a serious message…or at least serious enough to post it and ask
about it.
Don
Don,
That's true, but I don't want anyone to lose sight of the fact that it was
not a maliscious message. It was meant as, and taken as a joke when it was
posted to Usenet. The fellow who posted it has done a lot for the Amiga
community, and I wouldn't want him to take flak for what was done after the
fact, that is, the posting of the single message out of context.
Regards, Larry.
Larry,
I understand that. But only in the context it was posted ON Usenet. It
has since been uploaded HERE, as well as many private BBS's, TOTALLY OUT OF
CONTEXT. There is where the confusion set in.
Lloyd
Whoever set the message up made it a clever exaduration (sorry – can't spell
that) of some of the more legitimate rumors that most of us have heard.
Actually, except for the PS/2 and MAC bull, the rest looks possible, but not
for a year or two. Actually I'm glad it's not true, I'd hate to think my new
2000 was soon to become obsolete.
