Years ago while scrubbing a scaly green layer of tomato stain from my hands (we found that a slurry of sandy dirt and rotten tomato juice did a better job than any soap), and trying to blink away the vision of endless rows of one single variety of tomatoes dancing before my eyes, I swore that I would never willingly grow another Moreton Hybrid tomato plant. Familiarity, I guess, bred contempt. But, even now, when I talk of classic tomato taste, it's the tang of Moreton that springs to the tip of my tongue. Somehow I suspect that matching growing skills with you will require drastic measures: unswearing old oaths, revisiting young ground, breaking out of circles and perhaps even resorting to shameless hyperbole. I choose Moreton Hybrid. I'll send you seed.

Here, here….the Moreton hybrid is indeed one of the classics, and one of the best tasting I've known. We would carry it if Harris could supply it untreated…. Harris really did had a lot of good cultivars.
