Tim, welcome to Gardening Forum. I've jumped into the hydroponic mystery
in the past four months and find it fascinating. I've concluded that you
don't have to worry about putting together all the different nutrients
yourself. General Hydroponics and HydroFarm offer a general purpose
nutrient powder that works fine for people getting started. Later, as you
get into specialties, you can delve into the details of varying each of the
individual nutrients such as N, P, and K. There is a good hydroponic
magazine for beginners called "Growing Edge", published in Corvallis,
Oregon. call 1-800-888-6785 for subscription information. General
Hydroponics is reached at 415-924-3390 and HyrdoFarm is at (I can't find it
at the moment). Another good source is Diamond at 1-800-331-3994. What are
you thinking about growing?
