Jim: Thanks for responding. The answers to your questions are ass follows:
Parity – None , Data Bits – 8, Version of Modem0.device – 1.6 baud 2400,
transfer protocal – CIS B+ binary. I should also not that i sometimes
loose characters on the screen coming in from CIS. That seems to be
something which has occured recently. Also set for full duplex. Would any
other info help?

OK – the Supra modem0.device Version 2.x appears to NOT work with AmigaDOS
V2.04, so you have no problem with your V1.6. To log on with JrComm, you
might try 7 data bits instead of 8. CIS will automatically change to 8 when
you download a file using B+ protocol.
Are you running a bunch of tasks at the same time, or playing a game while
logged on? If the CPU is asked to do a bunch of extra work while
transmitting or receiving data, then try not to do such things. Have you
successfully used your current modem with any other telecommunications
product at 2400 baud?
Do you have call waiting? Normally this telco service causes your modem to
think that DTR has dropped and you loose your connection. When all else
fails, you might try check the fit of your RJ-11 plugs in your modem and
telephone jack. I would think that LOOSING characters would be indicative
of either your modem or your CPU being unable to keep up with the flow
from/to CIS. Garbage characters would be something else.
Perhaps someone else will have some more or better ideas.
