I need someone to come to a customer site and demo a Toaster live. I am in
the Los Angeles area in So. Cal. Can you please recomend a vendor that
would be willing to do that. I contacted Media/Media and they were no help
at all. Also I would be willing to do the demo myself if you have a policy
about sending out demo units. I can give you all of my info in a private
message if there is anything along those lines.

Sorry to jump in – but I AM Media/Media and I'm sorry we couldn't help
you…we are in the process of closing things down, as I am moving to
Topeka RSN.
What exactly do you need? Give me a call at (818) 505-1464 and
I'll see if there's anything I CAN do…

The best bet is for you to contact NewTek Sales @ 800-368-5441. They will
be able to refer you to our authorized dealers in the L.A. area. Since
Media Media is closing up shop, it would work out well for you to contact
the sales dept.

Are those cool Toaster T-Shirts available to purchase? A friend of mine
got one at a show a while back. It had "say revolution" on the left front
and it had the big toaster logo in back. I know you can get them free if
you upgrade to 2.0, but I don't have a toaster… yet. 😎

Hi Nick,
At this time the really cool NewTek T-shirts are not for sale. The latest
shirts were available to customers who upgraded to version 2.0 of the Video
Toaster software by January 31st. We have had such a huge demand for
various NewTek T-shirts that we are looking into the possibility of
offering them for sale to the general public. When we decide how to proceed
it will be posted here and certainly in the Amiga magazines.

One commment about your shirts . . . .
I just got my 2.0 upgrade, and the quality of the upgrade is dragged down
by th LOW quality of your T-shirts.
In the future, I recommend the use of Hane's Beefy-Ts. Most screen printers
offer this type of shirt. These 50-50 (50%cotton, 50%polyester) shirts are
of mediocre quality, and I am surprised that you guys would deliver a
product of such low quality.
I hope this doesn't mean the marketroids are taking over at NewTek? (I
notice the A slice of the toaster effects panel is set up for Kiki to sell
the product, as opposed to selecting effects used most by users.
This may sound like sour grapes, (trust me, I like 2.0) but it isn't. I
know NewTek is growing fast, and I would hate to see you guys become a
bloated mediocre company.

I could really care less about the quality of the shirt…after all it is
only a T-shirt. I'm more interested in the fact that a 34 year old guy like
me is going to walk through the mall with a t-shirt that has a death skull
on it. It would have been a real nice T-shirt if it just had front only
maybe smaller above the pocket. (Cheaper to produce too…probably) Oh
well….we are a bunch of complainers anyway. Ha! No complaints on 2.0 I
LOVE IT!!
Wow – a "gimmee" in a $400 upgrade for a $2400 device, costs maybe $4-5
bucks in bulk, and you've going to complain? I've got a closet full of
promotional t-shirts. I try to find alternative uses for them all – right
now, the window shade at the other end of the room is augmented by an
"Atari Speed Skating" t-shirt and a "1989 Amiga DevCon" t-shirt. Maybe I
should replace one of them with my new black Toaster 2.0 shirt, it would
probably block the light, too. The T2 shirt is the same brand that I've
seen NewTek use for years, and yours is the first complaint I've heard.
It's a 50/50 blend, too. As for T2 shirts, the Coolest Friends of NewTek
have the Xmas party version, which has the skull logo on the front. 🙂
Well,
It's the first shirt I've gotten from them. My comments were made from
experience as a silk screener, and a longtime t-shirt wearer. I would like
to have a shirt that would last for a long time, so I could proudly
advertise Toaster2.0 for years to come.
And it wouldn't have cost them that much more.
At least its not as bad as MSS Platinum series Tees. They bought and sent
out on irregulars!!.

A pox on all who would use less than 100% cotton BEEFY-T's for their
silkscreening! (The above was not an intentional product endorsement)
