I too would like to echo Bill Robert's concern about SuperPlan. Will OXXI
ignore SuperPlan because it has MAxiPlan?

Thanks for restating the original question! MaxiPlan has not been an Oxxi
product for over two years now. So there is no conflict with Superplan.
Our current thrust is to bring Superbase Pro4 back into compatibility with
the IBM version, which includes adding network functions such as
record-locking to the program. Superplan development will also be
considered once this immediate development need has been accomplished.

I hope you won't consider it too long. Superplan is past it's prime, and
the field is moving on. So far, the only advantage Superplan has is that
there aren't any decient spreadsheets available on the Amiga.

If it indeed is so far behind the market, that doesn't bode well for
Superplan upgrades… Development, like anything else in business, is
market-driven, and if the analysis indicates that Superplan sales won't be
able to pay for the development, then it's a goner.

I have Superplan. One vote for future upgrades and a better manual, WITH
EXAMPLES. Lotus 123 is a easy to learn because of the many third party
books filled with examples, explaned in English. Can you recomend any with
a fomula syntax similar to Superplan?

Gee, now I know why I go nuts with most manuals! I thought I was being
clear and obviously I wasn't. I was refering to any books about more widely
(read IBM/MAC) known spreadsheets that use a formula syntax similar to
Superplan.

With no real established spreadsheet for the Amiga, a good product with
EXPOSURE (good advertising) would appeal to many Amiga users.

are the specific features and compatibilities you're looking for?

Thanks for replying. I have taken a class on using Lotus, and it is
definitely the standard, so I'm looking for something that has similar
features. I'm not sure about my uses (I'm sure I'll find more and more as
I use the program), but I do know I want a powerful product, that is stable
and is actively supported by its publisher.
I know about MaxiPlan, Golddisk's Advantage and ProCalc, and SuperPlan.
The general impressions I get here on CIS is that MaxiPlan is an orphan,
Advantage is OK but not incredibly powerful, and ProCalc has potential but
needs a little more polishing and maturing.
I guess I'm partial towards SuperPlan because I've heard it is
tremendously powerful (although not totally Amiga-tized), it is designed to
integrate with Superbase (which I have), and I'm pleased with your (Oxxi's)
support of their products.
Whatever decision you make on SuperPlan, I will understand. I hope you
do decide to start publishing it, but if not, I'll start looking at some of
the others — probably ProCalc, since it's being hailed as a up-and-coming
contender (even though GD's support and update policies leave a little to
be desired).
