Hi Folks Does anybody have the Impulse Phone number ?? I want to order the
Imagine 2.0 upgrade, but live in Canada so I can't use the 1-800 #, also
the old # listed in the newsletters doesn't seem to work anymore
(612-566-0221). I want to order by Phone so I can save a little time, the
mail being a bit slow ya know. So much Great Amiga Software, so little Time

Impulse, Inc. 612-566-0221 (according to their Imaigne 1.0 docs,
anyway).
They do have an 800 number. But I guess they think people might use it
and run up thier bill. I think it is 1 (800) 328-0184 I also have
1(800)843-8934 writen next to my Imagine 2.0 order info in my note
book Its an 800 try it you never know who you might get….
Yeah, I've called their 800 # several times with just 'average'
questions (ie. Imagine, FireCracker24, etc), even though it's
supposed to be a sales #. They have been very kind each time and
helped me anyway.
I called the 800# cause all their literature mentions it, but it's a
real bit** to find their regular # at times. Have to look through
lots of stuff just to find it. Oh well, the 800 is cheaper for me at
least 🙂
Thanks for the info on phone #' but U.S. 1-800 #' don't work outside of the
U.S.. FLAME ON This a very sore point with me that Impulse publishes the
1-800 and stopped publishing the regular #. They seem to have no concept on
International support. I have written them repeatedly about their lousy
support. They even sent a PAL version of Imagine to another fellow in
Canada recently, which only further illustrates how poor their
understanding of the market place is. When 80% of the Amiga market is
external to the U.S.
Developers should pay attention to the needs of that Market! I have been
an Impluse Customer since Silver first came out and have upgraded
regularly, but always by my own efforts. The newsletter only comes
intermittantly. You would think they would make more effort to get my
money. I always have to phone and badger them about the specifics of the
upgrade. And now you couldn't even phone because they stoppes publishing
the Phone # and expected everybody to use the 1-800.
I recently bought a text editor by a company called A__G (fill in the
Blanks). It is a fabulous product and comes with 250 page manual and list's
all features and what they do and why you might want to use them. Impulse
might have a look at a real manual someday. I don't have any Idea how
someone could use Imagine to make a living, It takes at the minimum a dozen
renderings to get results anywhere near satisfying because the functions
are so poorly documented. (this is the Forms Editor, you use to make forms)
What!!! Flame OFF I have to go to work and earn a living but I feel better.
Dont get me wrong I love Imagine and Impulse, there is nothing available
like Imagine or priced like it but boy they P__S me off sometimes.

Some US 800#'s do work from Canada. I don't know if Impulse's is one of
them or not. In any event, the winter '92 AC's Guide lists the following
other numbers for Impulse:
Voice: 1-612-566-0221
Fax: 1-612-566-1822

Hi John,
I'm the guy who got the PAL version of Imagine. I finally got the NTSC
version, but haven't had much time to use it. I have had lots of time (bus
to work) to read the manual, and I have to give Impulse credit for trying.
I think the manual is a good start, but a person still needs to spend a lot
of time with the program.
I'm also located in Edmonton. Are you a member of AmiCUE? We could
maybe get together sometime to discuss Imagine, if I can ever find time
between work and family. (I've had my Imagine 2.0 for two weeks now, and
all I've really done is re-render some of my old stuff that didn't render
properly under 1.1.)

Hi Kevin,
Sure I would like to get together sometime, I live near the Coliseum. I
used to belong to AmiCue but always missed the meetings, so have given up
for now. I don't get the time I would like to to play with Imagine, I have
a Wife a 16 month old son and two dogs so I have to share my time with them
as well as AMI. I also work in field service for Digital Equipment which
keeps me very busy during daylight hours. I do most of my Imagining at
night.
I would like to talk to you about sharing objects and tips etc. I have
been finding a lot of objects thru various network connections
Internet/Usenet etc. My Phone # is 471-2763

Wow, it seems we have more in common than using Imagine!
I know what you mean about finding the time. I think I went to two
AmiCue meetings in the last year. My son is 11 months old, but I don't
have the two dogs. I too do all my Imagining at night (mostly after Mark
and Margaret have gone to bed). I work for AGT, developing Network
Management software on (get this) Digital Equipment computers.
I'd be interested in sharing objects too. I've found most of the
objects I use on the Studio Amiga BBS in Arlington, Texa; as well as here
on CIS and some on Genie.
Another fellow I know at work is interested in Imagine, so I was
thinking of maybe trying to start a small Imagine SIG here. It could be
monthly, or every other month maybe. Would you be interested? Right now
I'm really busy until the beginning of March, we have a software release to
finish by month end, so I doubt I'll be doing much between now and then
except work.

Yes I would be interested in meeting once in a while re. Imagine stuff.
and doing a show and tell (over a few HomeBrews). WOW small world, I worked
for AGT for 8.5 years in Altel Data, repairing all the Sperry P.C.'s and
IBM telecomm controllers etc.. Do you work in the Toll bldg. or the Tower?
I left AGT, 2 years ago as I couldn't stand working for the GOVT anymore
(too many roadblocks to getting anything done) I am enjoying working for
the private sector again and proving to myself I still have a brain. AGT
just about pounded me flat. Yes please call some time.
I am enjoying playing with Imagine 2.0 (just arrived this week along
with ADpro 2.0) just finding out all the stuff they changed ie. some
textures don't work like they used to. But in general a nice improvement
particularly in editor apearance.
