Marjory, I noticed when we changed to the more common dry dog food (Dads,
Purina Dog Chow) from some of the high test stuff, urine burn on the turf
deceased. I suspect (I'll have to discuss this with our animal science
people), the lower the protein content, the less ammonia and urea in the

Bob, makes sense to me. My dog is so little she doesn't "doo" much harm to
my garden. There are many flat areas with cement stepping stones where she
squats. I've never noticed burn (but I don't have a lawn). She has ruined a
fescue, though, from using it as a cushion. It's almost flat now, whereas
before it was a tuft. But I prefer her lying on the fescue to a plant
covered with flowers….
