A few months ago some folks here suggested using the Mirror Image program MI Font to convert Macintosh fonts to Amiga fonts. I believe one of those was an employee of MI. Well, we bought the beast and after a frustrating time installing the program (a convoluted process that is not well documented) it does not work properly. We have several font suitcases containing Mac Bitmap fonts (both FOND and FONT type resources). One suitcase seems to contain an outline version of the font as well. That is the only suitcase that will transfer. The other suitcases give ERROR 008. Naturally this message is not documented. Question 1: What is Error 008? Question 2: Can MI Font transfer a Mac Bitmap font for which no outline data exists (as the marketing literature and msgs here claimed)? Question 3: if answer to Q2 is Yes, what are we doing wrong? if answer to Q2 is No, please send me a return authorization number so we can get our money back. Thank You, Jerry Isdale (asking for Xiphias, makers of CDTV products)

Jerry, I agree that installation and setup of MIFont is confusing. Just wanted to let you know that I've had it up and running perfectly for almost 1 year. I don't know what Error 008 means. MIFont should transfer the bitmap font fine of any Mac font for which you have a screen font, you won't get PS output without the postscript outline 'printer font'. I don't know what you're doing wrong, but I had wonderful assistance from Brett at Mirror Image (MI). 416 495 7469. Don't give up, when it's working, it's seamless, transparent, and everything it's supposed to be. (No, I don't work for 'em, I'm just a happy Amiga dtp'er who appreciates the access to Mac fonts.) Jan Thanx,
