I am looking to buy a 24 pin dot matrix printer. I have been using an
Epson 9 pin for a number of years with no complaints, but now I want to
enjoy to improved quality of print that a 24 pin printer can provide.
I have seen and used the Panasonic KX-P1124–so I am considering the newer
KX-P1124i which I understand is essentially the same printer with some
improvements (including the LCD display).
Recently, I saw an Epson Action Printer 5000 (according to Epson the same
as their LQ-570) for almost the some price as the KX-P1124i, and, according
to the list of features, it appears to be very similar to it in
capabilities.
I would be interested in comments from anyone having experience with either
or both of these printers–especially if someone has done specific
comparisons between the two.
I believe both of these companies have reputations for putting out good
printers, and after using an Epson 9 pin for years and an earlier version
of the Panasonic 24 pin briefly, I am really having a difficult time
deciding which is the better buy since they cost about the same.
