Duff, I'm dropping this to you only because I know you'll be able to tell
me the answer. I own Xenix System V ver 2.3.2. I want to upgrade to a
System V release 4 (or close) type of Unix. I will not do this unless I can
run AutoCad R-11. Is there a R-11 version that will run on a Intel
processor type of Unix? Are there plans for a release, soon, like this

Greg – AutoCAD Release 11 for SCO Unix is in the works. Actually, I
haven't been keeping careful track; it may be available now. I'm not sure
if we've decided to support SCO beyond R11, though, since AutoCAD sales on
XENIX have been far below our other platforms. Other possibilities for
multitasking systems on the 386/486 in the R12 timeframe include Windows
NT, OS/2 2.0, and Solaris. I'm not sure how we're going to proceed in this
area, although I'm sure that Windows NT will be supported; I'm just not
sure about the others.

This is great news. I would like to upgrade to SCO Unix R-11 from my DOS
version ASAP. Who should I check with there. Just spoke to my official
dealer and I'm getting info for him. Also I want to track the Solaris
development. The O/S won't be avail untill end of year at best. So SCO is
now, that'll hold us for a year. Thanks Again!!
Greg – I'm hoping that someone who knows the real scoop will jump in here,
but if the SCO Unix version of R11 isn't available already, it will be
shortly.

John – Ya got me… I doubt whether we know many details at all about what
the Windows NT version will support, but perhaps Robert Wenig would have
something to contribute here…
