Our local ACAD dealer just mailed his latest newsletter out. It contained a note of warning to ACAD users about using Stacker with ACAD. He stated that the compression method would corrupt the drawings files. This seemed to be different from what I read here on Cserv. I wonder if anyone out there is running ACAD with Stacker or had any problems. I was looking to purchasing this program because of the advertised features… I'm not so sure right now. Also how about SuperStor?? Will it work/not work too?? Tom Sorrell B.C.C.L.T., Inc.

Thomas: I haven't heard that one. There are several of us here using Stacker with no ill effects. I've been using it for several months with no corrupted drawing files. Michael

Thomas, I just recently (within the last few weeks) began using DR DOS 6.0 with SuperStore and 4DOS. I have not experienced any problems that I would attribute to this combination. Drawings files seem to be fine, although admittedly my experience is rather short. As stated, others on the forum here have been using Stacker for months with no problems. My opinion is that the added benefits outweigh the minimal risks. Besides, I try to maintain a current backup set just in case things get out of hand. But then, one should do that anyway. –Randy

Thomas: I used Stacker (software only) on my .dwg files and the acad prgram and support files without a problem. Larry

A number of people in the development staff here at Autodesk are using Stacker and have reported that it works fine. Best thing since sliced bread if I rember the exact quote correctly…. -Mike
