Don,
'Cuz I tried whap in an earlier version but after following directions, had
trouble creating a boot disk. In spite of this, I tried to perservere, but
found disk space requirements (what with downloaded files, saved message files
and the like) to be prohibitive, and difficult to deal with. This, combined
with the fact that I have a 1000, without a hard disk, and an ms-dos
compatible, next to the amiga WITH a hard disk, and the fact that I use TAP at
work (where ~90% of my CI$ing takes place) WITH a hard disk, make me prefer it.
Now, when I get a 40+Mb HD in the Amy, then I'll take a second look.
Other, much less compelling reasons, have been that I feel that altho whap! is
a VERY amigatized program, Access! which while not required, is highly
recommended for use with Whap!, is (IMHO) too button oriented, and thus
cluttered with them. That one is (as mentioned) a rather minor and personal
concern. Disk space is the biggie.
