JACK; THANKS FOR ANSWERING. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE KURTA 12X12 TABLET FOR MY
WIFE WHO IS A GRAPHIC ARTIST. MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN SHE USE THE TABLET WITH
ANIM PROGRAMS SUCH AS VIDEOSCAPE 3D, ZOETROPE ETC. I HAVE NO EXP WITH THIS, NOR
DOES SHE. WE'VE HAD OUR AMIGA ONLY 3 MONTHS. IT'S OUR FIRST COMPUTER EVER.
WE ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM
WITH THE CUT TOOL IN DPAINT HANGING UP WITHE THE TABLET. ANY IDEAS
WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Michael,
Your messages are reaching us in all-caps mode. Would you please use lower
case? If you are typing with the caps lock on, just release it. If you are
using both lower and upper case, but your message comes in upper case only, you
need to change your settings for CompuServe (Go TERMINAL).
You came to the right place to get help with Amiga graphics – but I'm not the
person to help. We have many members who both can and will.

Which version of DPaint do you have? and what do you mean by the 'cut' tool?
Hi Vic, thanks for calling/writing/whatever . I have deluxe paint II. The
cut tool is used to cut a brush/etc from your screen. It always seems to
hang up the Amiga if I use this, especially if I am too quick, when using
the Kurta tablet. I have 1 1/2 megs in my machine, 2 disk drives, a
modem(could you guess?),#Pe tablet(which shares the same port), a printer,
a moniter or a genlock(again they share the same port). I have a 100 watt
power supply/junked that tiny thing that came with the Amiga. any
guesses???????? thanks, Mike Walker \exit
I've had a series 1 for about 2 years and use it constantly. There is some
kind of conflict with the driver and DPAINT which I believe is DPAINT's
fault since I've seen the same kinds of things happen with the
Summagraphics drivers. Yes, I use the thing with Zoetrope, Photonpaint,
Sculpt-Animate and nearly everything else. But the thing to watch out for
are: in DPAINT, changing screen formats , going into "magnify" via the
keyboard, and a few other obscure situations. I try to save often. Also,
the thing hangs up sometimes (possibly there are calls to the old debugger,
which sent messages out the serial port), which can be fixed by pushing the
little reset button on the back of the tablet. SOme software likes to look
for the hardware buttons – i.e. cannot use the simulated button press
signals – E.G. Digipaint's scissors and a few other things. PPaint works
really well, but it's ppaint. I haven't tried it with Diamond yet. Good
luck! J H H Lowengard
