#Path Problem
5 messages in this thread
I'm trying to do a seemingly simple thing. I want to be able to
move some text around the screen on the X/Y axis using a path which I
create in the 2-D shaper. The path is an arc beginning at the upper
left-center of the screen moving to the left upper-center of the
screen. Since all paths brought into the keyframer form the 2-D
Shaper are brought in on the X/Z axis, I cannot get the right
orientation. I've tried bringing the path into the 3-D Lofter to
rotate it, but I can't seem to get the right rotation to do the
trick. I've tried doing the movements "by hand", but things come out
a bit chuncky. Am I missing something painfully obvious? (wouldn't
be the first time <g>)
Simple. Just link the object on its 2D arcing path to a dummy and rotate the
dummy.

You can do it the alternate way that Gary suggests, but you're already
trying the best way: Put the path in the Lofter and rotate it there
before sending it to the Keyframer. I've also had problems getting
the right rotation in the Lofter. Your best bet is to turn on the 3D
Display in the Lofter so you can see the exact orientation of your
path in the 3D Scene.
