Jim, how pointers are incremented has to do with architechture of the CPU. On the MC68000 memory is linear. So if you have a byte at address N, the next byte is at address N+1. Very simple. Have you been using some 8088 machines? There you have to worry about skipping to right segments, etc…all that ugly stuff… hope this answers your question……Richie
