I have recently adapted a PC to use the TOPS network. This allowed me the ability to file interchange from the Macintosh to the PC. However, I really fell in love when I found that I could now print my Acad drawings to the LaserWriter using their driver to print a PostScript file. If this interests anyone, I'll be happy to upload a description of the process. It does require the purchase of a board for the PC and some software, however the output is wonderful!

I'm in the process of purchasing a Mac II and am interested in Tops and the ability to share devices, etc. any information would be appreciated.

Although no one is more outspoken here in support of things Apple, I must point out that direct output to an Apple Laserwriter via the serial port is a less expensive solution for those AutoCAD users not using TOPS. However, since the Laserwriter is so expensive, sharing it among several users is very attractive. Please share with us the details of your experiences using TOPS in conjunction with AutoCAD plot files. What brand of Appletalk card are you using with your PC and how much did it cost you? They seemed pretty expensive last time I checked. .. Looking forward to your upload. .. .. Lansing Pugh Authorized AutoCAD Dealer / Austin, Texas / (512) 441-4666 ..
