#3ds3 in Windows 3.1

I could only get it to work with the built-in Vibrant drivers. I never could
get the RDP, RCP, VISTA, or even VGA drivers to work with Windows. This was
confirmed by Yost & company – use the Vibrant drivers if at all.
That said, it sounds like the "Out of Environment" error message is a more
basic problem. Are you firing up 3DS from a batch file in the PIF that has
some SET statements, etc? Did you try increasing your environment space from
DOS at boot time with the SHELL command in CONFIG.SYS?
We should try to figure out why the Vibrant drivers won't work. What exactly
isn't working?

Interesting. I can only get 3ds and Windows to work _without_ the Vibrant
drivers. I have a special alternate 3ds.set file that uses the built-in VGA
driver when I want to run from Windows.

I am not sure why the vibrant drivers don't work, I get a video
graphics error. I'll write it down and let you know what the error
is. Is there something I have to do to get the vibrant drivers
working with the diamond speedstar? I'll try increasing the
environment with shell. I also got a message to try running the set
statements before starting windows. I'll try it all (G). It is not
vital, as I have no problem running 3ds3 in DOS, but it would be nice
to do some simple things in windows. Thanks for your help.

Doug,
Did you run the Vibrant configuration program?: 3DS VIBCFG
