Hi, Daniel. I saw your message to Mark Blanchard. I'm thinking of adding an accelerator board to my 2000, but am really unsure which is best. I'm on a budget, too. Do you know anything about the VXL boards? Who sells the SupraTurbo 28 that you are using? Thanks very much! — John Wheaton 72077,1702 * AP

I only know what has been in the advertisements about the VXL board. If you have never seen any of these advertisements, let me know and I'll convey the information to you. Can anyone else here relate any first hand experience(s) with the Microbotics VXL accelerator for the A2000? As for the SupraTurbo 28, it is manufactured by Supra Corporation. Supra Corporation P.O. John, I guess my memory was a little fuzzy last night…. Microbotics has a support area here in the AmigaVend forum. Supra has a support area in the ModemVendor area. I recommend that you check the libraries and messages in those areas for the information you seek. If you do not find satisfaction there, then a direct question to the respective company representative or sysop should do the trick. Hope this helps. // daniel on autopilot in paradise \X/ powered by intel and motorola

MicroBotics is no more. I called about upgrading my VXL (turns out I need an MMU after all), and a recording had me call another company (at (214) 644-0043–I didn't write down the company name), which faxed me some material yesterday morning. I've been pretty happy with my VXL and 2M of 32-bit RAM. I do, however, have a couple of apparently unique problems with my system since installing it. One is that I cannot use my AdRam 2080 2M board with it, because for some reason warm reboots become impossible. Well, it works fine with the RAM board if I disconnect my Trumpcard Pro, but given my choice between a hard disk and a RAM board, I tend to prefer the former. The other problem is that when the temperature drops below 80 degrees in my room, I start getting a lot of bus errors (80000002) for 20 or 30 minutes until it gets well warmed up. (When it goes over 95 degrees I tend to get the old green "Hey, Ma, no memory!" screen.) I think the problem is as likely to be in my mother board as in the VXL. I've been thinking of putting a fancy CPU socket in my mother board, but that's a lot of toil when it might not be effective. As I say, otherwise I like my VXL a lot after 13 months of use.
