Would your solution mean that the VGA card bypassing the CGA pass-through which
I already plan to install might be a work around? This is a royal PIA. I have
been doing a lot of system level work and this is a constant nuisance

well, the CGA and MDA is still there, if you want to use it. I
sometimes make use of Turbo-C's dual screen capability in debugging.
However, if you don't care for switch-boxes, that isn't the solution for
you.
