Win F/X

Hey There Blackbelt,
I have been intending to stop by, ever since I received my WinImages FX
package. It is truly an outstanding program! It is also a great pleasure to
get a new program which isn't full of bugs. I do, however, have one question.
Maybe I'm missing something, but what useful purpose does the 3D mesh filter
serve, other than drawing squiggles all over an image? Oh BTW, would you care
to give a hint as to what else is in the works for the WinImages series?
Thanks
Ralph Marbach
Try applying the 3D-net function and then doing a Relief effect, I always
thought this was kinda cool. :^)

Well, welcome, and thanks for the kind words. :^)))
The 3-d mesh is a special effect; as such, it serves the same purpose as
others, it's flashy and especially when animated over something, it's cool
looking. Other than that, it's about as useful as "ripple". :^)
I won't hint – but I *will* tell you that we should have something very
cool for you within about 60-90 days regarding F/x; and something for
WinImages:morph well before that. :^)
And before you Amiga types jump all over me, a new IM R/t as well. :^)
Oh, and a v2.0 of ApAssist.
Oh yeah… and something else… <big grin>

It appears that Fountain has found a use for the ripple effect if you've
been watching Babylon 5. Next week will bring us 2 ripple interference if
I'm right about what I saw in the preview.
The effects dept. has decided that the guns used in the show cause a shock
wave that ripple distorts when you see the gun firing. Next week, it
looks like they are going to have two guns firing in quick succession.
Hey, some of us have a lot of time on our hands. ;^)

Well, someone will rpobably decide that the 3-d net is a perfect "computer
mapping" overlay at some point. :^) What we won't do for fantasy, eh?

The same was done in TekWars but it affected the entire image. I thought
it was a creative use of a F/X.
