what is this FACADE . . . it seems to me that you're all referring to
something that plain 'ol Autocad does just fine. They way I've been
designing lately I build my model in 3d and then use DXB files to
take pictures of elevations sections and details. What am I
missing?????
I will leave the details to David but FACADE is the greatest little
tool I've seen in quite a while. Sorry but I don't think "that plain
'ol Autocad does just fine" unless you have created your own set of
lisp routines to do the grunt work. Of course you can do this without
any tools by just using Acad's own facilities but then, you can also
write War and Peace using edlin. It's just a matter of how fast you
want it done.

You're a sick puppy, Gus!<G>

Facade is a 3D face-based modeler that runs inside of AutoCAD and
makes it very easy to quickly build 3D models of buildings complete
with windows, doors, floor slabs, roofs (with dormers and skylights)
and detailed 3D stairs. Everything is built using meshes so that
there are no extruded lines. And the models have all their normals
set properly so that they are ready to render as soon as you bring
them into 3D Studio or any other rendering package.
Facade is basically a specialize region modeler. It deals only with
the architectural elements, so it is able to run very fast. You
create individual building elevations (facades) in 2D and then Facade
takes them and converts them into 3D walls with thickness and
assembles them into a complete 3D model.
It's much faster than doing it by hand in AutoCAD, which of course is
the alternative. And the program is very inexpensive. I'd be glad to
send you some information.
David:
As long as you're sending info out on FACADE please send me anything you can.
Thanks,
Bob
I just reorganized my CompuServe files with a new version of TAPCIS.
Please send me your address and phone/fax number again and I'll get
some information out to you right away.

David:
I'll e-mail you all the info you requested.

David – new version of Tapcis??? Tell me more…
Dave
Dave:
It's an old version of TAPCIS (or I guess the current version). I was just a
couple of versions behind and too lazy to switch over until the old version
started giving me problems.
David
David,
If you wouldnt mind, could you please send me some infor on FACADE. Also, how
expensive is expensive.
Thanx
David
David:
I would be glad to send you info on Facade. Just leave me an address and/or
fax number and I'll send it right out.
Facade is not expensive. It's very INEXPENSIVE!
Facade has a suggested retail price of $189.
Not bad for a feature-based parametric 3D face-based architectural modeler.

pmji but i could use some of this info too. I'm using adesk products and do
some architectural rendering as well. I have dca autoarchitect, but it's not
designed for the same thing.
any info will be helpful. are you the vendor?
