Ken, For some strange reason, the DOS4GW 386 extender that comes with
Alchemy uses only the first 16Mb of RAM. I use our copy of ALCH386
with the DOS4GW that came with HiRes QFX, which supports as much
memory as I have (64 Mb. on one machine.) The extender will use the
disk when it runs out of RAM, perhaps you don't have enough disk
space when you are running yours. I have successfully processed 40
Mb files for output to the 650C on a 32Mb 486 with that same extender
that comes with the 386 version of Alchemy.
By the way, what gamma and under color removal settings are you using to get
"great" output? I have tried in vain to get the same quality from Alchemy/650C
as I get from my 1200C with Windows drivers to no avail…
