I have a Viper VLB 2MB, and am interested in suggestions for good quality, but inexpensive drivers for 3DS R3. I've had problems with Diamond's VESA drivers, and am uncertain on their support for 3DS (if there is any). Please help. JNJ

John, if your Viper has the Weitek VGA chip, it should work fine with the Vibrant in-line drivers. If it's one of the newer ones with the Oak Technologies VGA chip, you may have to wait for the Vibrant driver update, promised to be down-loadable from here as soon as it is released. -Alan

John: I also have a viper, it works, but only in vesa mode, set vibcfg to vibrant, vesa comp.,what ever res. you chose. and add the line c:\viper\vprmode.exe vesa to your autoexec.bat, assuming that is your path. I have a frame buffer so 8 bit modes are not a problem I just render to my frame buffer. other then that wait for the new drivers, but don't hold you breath!<g>.

>>I just render to my frame buffer. other then that wait for the new drivers, but don't hold you breath!<g>. << The new VESA ones from Diamond, or Vibrant ones for the Viper? I believe that there are some Viper 24bit VESA drivers in shareware.. Have you seen those? No accelerated support, eh? Too bad. JNJ
