HELP:
Could someone please tell me the size of their Autopilot executable
program? I think i may have a virus but i wanna be 100% sure before i do
anything.

My Autopilot 1.061 registered version is 344864 bytes long. Registration
applies some clever machine code patch to the program so I don't know if
the demo version is the same length.
Thanks for your help, the Demo IS the same length as the registered
version. I actually think i have not got a virus but a program i was
writing managed to trash part of my hard-drive a while ago and i think i
am still feeling aftershocks (i have just finished a complete backup and
restore – took 3 hours !)

Thanks, thats the same length as mine – i think i had a problem with
a program i was writing that damaged my hard-drive, i've done a
complete backup and restore and virusZ is finiding nothing wrong…
so i think i'm safe. BTW Where can i get the latest virus checker
(or what do you use ?)

Sorry to here about your drive,I trashed mine not so long ago luckily
had everything backed up and done a complete restore.Ended up with 9Mbs of
extra free space and I still haven't found out how!The latest virus
checker should be in one of the libraries or your local BBS.

Thanks i'll look for a new Virus killer, i know actually think that i
may have damaged one of the OS libraries coz i still had a few
problems after the format, resinstalled the OS libraries amd the
problem diasppeard.. It's like an Orange but blue….
I trashed my hard drive a few months ago, and _didn't_ have a current backup to
fall back on – believe me, it's an even greater pain than just restoring a
backup. The one advantage is that I was forced to prune a lot of the garbage
off my hard drive that should have been pruned anyway. I also installed EPU
and gained about 50 % more space.
I also trashed my OS libraries about a year and a half ago (I believe…I'm
still not entirely sure) writing some software. I used to have all kinds of
problems, until I installed 2.1 this summer. Most of the problems have
comp;letely disappeared, but I'll robably be doing some more programming this
semester, so it's always possible I'll reproduce my earlier feat. Moral of the
story – Murphy's law strikes again…

drain, VERY painful….
Yeah i THINK i trashed the OS libs but it's hard to tell, maybe all libs
should have a CRC routine or some other checksum.

There are dozens of virus checkers in the libraries here. I've seen two
or three among the new uploads posted in the past two or three weeks.
Just look in the libraries.
