To all: Has anyone heard about a new lower priced A4000? What are the specs,
what will be the price and when will it be available? Will it be 100% toaster
compatable. Any information would be great/exit

I haven't heard much, but it suppose to be a version of the A4000 that is
cheaper for Commodore to manufacture, which would allow them to still make
a decent profit while reducing the retail price.
I believe some of the features will be:
– removing the separate CPU-board. Instead a CPU will be on the
motherboard just like the A3000. Users would still be able to add
a new CPU thru the CPU-slot.
– the RAM for CHIP memory will be soldered.
I really don't know too much more.
Ron.
– ap'ing with AP. (Eagles may fly, but weasels aren't sucked
into jet engines.)
I seem to recall that the 040 might still go on a CPU board, but 030
systems will have a surface mount 030. My recollection could be flawed.
All the specs should be identical.
