Hmmm..You can get that message if the Preferences printer.device can't find the driver… Found that ou the hard way…Are you sure that the EXACT name that you put into Custom Printer Name is "Okidat.dri", not just Okidat? Remember, Preferences don't use any specific filetypes…so if the name that you put into Preferences isn't exactly the same as what it's named as in devs/printers, the printer.device won't find the driver and you'll get that error message. Also make sure that you have SAVEd the Preferences setting, and that both printer.device and system-configuration is in the DEVS directory. (the one that's been ASSIGNed…If you assign it in startup-sequence to something else, you will get that error message! To check where DEVS is assigned to..start your system, enter CLI, and type ASSIGN ?<return>) And if all this don't fix it, then try NOT using the Okimate 10 cable..instead, go to your dealer and get a regular Amiga parallel cable.
