Right Steve, as I said, BCPL makes a lot of sense on the right machine.
That is also why I wish they had documented the Amiga's routines in
assembler terms rather than in C terms. They've even gone so far as to
C'ify the assembler include files, with the misguided belief that they
would be somehow easier to read.
As far as I am concerned, documenting a machine in a higher level language
is justifiable only if that machine uses the language as its lowest coding
level.
I agree; use high level language if EVERYTHING is done in that language
only! The Mac software was done in Pascal, so Pascal programming on the Mac
is pretty straight forward, but C on the Mac took a while to show up
because it didn't "fit" right at first. – Steve –
