I don't want to burst your bubble, but I tried one of those. I got it
direct from Power Computing in the UK and had to return it. The PC
board on the back of the drive fouls with the card in my video slot
if I put it in the right hand bay (A2000). If I use the left hand bay
the ribbon cable wont reach between the two drives. Also the
instructions told me to line up the stripe on the ribbon cable with
the red dot on the PC board. No red dot. I sent it back. Anyway let
me know how you get on.
I just ordered an A3000 HD floppy from California, and an A2000 bezel
and button. (It's confirmed to be on it's way!)
Dave,
I'm using the external model, so I don't know about the internal
headaches. I have one machine using the external floppy from the original
1000 I owned back in 86-87 and the other had no external floppy. Internal
bays are all used up.
Anyway, so far it works fine (at least on HD PC disks – haven't tried HD
Amiga disks yet…)
