#DBase – NOT YET!
3 messages in this thread
The only Amiga database that I'm familiar with that is dBASE compatable is
dBMAN. I bought a copy before Superbase Pro came out. It is far from 100%
compatible (from a command point of view), lacks the screen format editing
capabilities of dBASE III Plus (you have to write a program just to get a
custom screen format), and has some serious bugs/limitations in the use of
related databases.
It's not unusable and if you are familiar with dBASE you have a head start,
but don't expect to simply move applications from dBASE to dBMAN. Also, if
you want to go from dBMAN to dBASE, the database files are not compatible,
you must export ASCII, then import to dBASE.

Claude, that of course is a very important point – if there is no third-party
program that is truly compatible, then it leaves an important market
unserved. I don't remember if dBMAN is the program I saw in the
advertisements, but it probably is.
