#MAC IIx COLOR PROBLEM!
3 messages in this thread
I'm running Illustrator 88 version 1.6 on MAC IIx (System 6.0.2). IAll colors
in Paint/Preview \in Paint/Preview/Preferences apperear as dithered patterns.
This occurs even when trashing the preferences file in system foldert.
(inicidently , I've experienced color probnlems when trying to rtun Canvas 2.0
(version 2,0) on the IIx.) The problem appers to be a bug in the way the
software is accessing the IIx's quickdraw (color). When will a fix be
available? Are you/anyone aware of of this problem ??
Ian,
I'm not in any way connected with Adobe other than beta testing Illustrator 88
for them. What you describe is not a problem. Illustrator 88 is ONLY capable of
displaying dithered colors that approximate PMS or Process selections.

}iThe problem is NOT that the colours are dithered but rather that NO color is
displayed. There is ONLY a B&W dithered pattern! Furthermore when creating a
custome{_ color NO color is displayed on a monitor, e.g. 100% cyand (or any
other color) is not cuyan but rather a B&W dithered image. This occurs only
when running Illustrator 88 on a _Mac IIx_ on a Mac II it works _perfectly. The
monitors are Apple color m}ionitor with Apple's display card and the 8 bit
extension. The other moitor is a raster ops 108 board. The exact problem occurs
with both monitors but ONLY when running Illustrator 88 on a _Mac IIx_. Canm
anyone help?
