#A1200 SCSI+RAM

Hi There,
I am thinking of purchasing a GVP SCSI+RAM board for my A1200. Can you
tell me whether fitting the full complement of 8Mb of RAM will interfere
with the addressing of the PCMCIA card slot? If so, is it possible to fit
4Mb without problems. Also, is it too much to ask whether you know if an
Apple CD300 CD drive will work with the SCSI?

I can address the CD300 drive question. In the latest AW, they reviewed
the two available CD ROM file systems. Either ASIM CDFS or Xetec CDx will
recognize that drive. The article and I personally recommend the CDFS.

As far as I am aware, the SCSI/RAM expansion does not conflict with the
PCMCIA slot an A1200's. Generally GVP cards do not (my A1230+ II
certainly doesn't).
The Apple CD300 will work with the SCSI/RAM. Someone (whose name escapes
my memory) recenlty tried it and reported so in one of the Amiga Forums.

Yes, it will. The A1200 has an 8MB range for adding additional RAM.
If you have a PCMCIA RAM card, then you can only install 4MB onto the
A1208 GVP card.

It should work without difficulty, assuming that it adheres to the full SCSI
command set.
