#CAD Programs
2 messages in this thread
Peter,
In December Richard Nolen sent me a beautiful 14 page color brochure on the
Unix XCAD product. It looks very impressive. He said it would run under
DESQview/X which is an XWindows system for DOS PC's. Do you know anything about
DESQview/X? One of the nice things for Amiga XCAD users is the command syntax
is exactly the same. So if your business warranted a new file server or you
needed to use one of the new modules such as Piping and Instrumentation it
would be a very small learning curve to jump to the Unix version(UNix and DOS
not withstanding). BTW, do know how much the list price of 999.00 in Pounds is
in US currency?
I hope you come here to the forums on CIS often. I have been looking for a
contact for Amiga CAD in Europe. Do you know aything about a program from
Germany called MaxonCAD? Are there many Amiga CAD users in Europe? How are you
involved in the CAD industry? (So many questions from this snoopy American!
8^)……)
I hope your review goes well and that I can get hold of a copy of it, when
published!
Thanks for the post!
Tom
Tom,
999 pounds would be around 1500 dollars. I log on to the Amiga fora at
least once a day. MaxonCAD, I think, is a down-market CAD program. I'll
check. I am connected with the CAD industry inasmuch as I am a journalist
specializing in the Amiga and also a personal friend of John Warren, who
is the XCAD Europe man (He has a deal with Richard Nolan). I can give you
a copy of the review, when published. Do you want the French or Dutch
version? <g>
