#File conversion to Macs

Does anyone know of a Macintosh program that decompresses files that are
archived in this area? Alternatively, is there documentation of the
compression algorithm and the file format available?

Almost everything here is compressed with either LZH or LHARC, which are
similar, and which we unpack with the same program. I know that there is
an excellent version of LHA for the MSDOS machines, and I thought there
was one for the MacINtosh, but I have not been to their forums to see.
I'm not sure whether the algorithm, etc., are available or not. I'll let
one of the programmers answer that one for you.

Thanks for the information. I'll continue to look for a Mac program in the Mac
forum, but I haven't been successful yet.

After a little more searching, I found a Mac decompression program that appears
to work on both .LHA and .LHZ files. The Mac file is modcnv.sit and is found
in the MACFUN forum (SOUND library).

A friend of mine runs a mac, and we have exhanged files using LHARC. I am
not sure of the file name, but I will find out from him. There used to be
an old lharc program in the mac libraries, but I don't think it works with
the latest versions. As far as docs on the algorithm….I don't know.
