#Missing Alpha Channels.

Make that 2 out of 26K. I am also having problems with invalid alpha
info. it seems that when I have distance cueing enabled in the
renderer, it invalidates the alpha information (solid white) in my
output files. I don't have any idea whats causing it. Any
suggestions?

I'm not familiar with this problem. If you'd like to simplify
you project, zip it up, summarize what's going on and email
it to me.

Jonas, I'd love to send you a project, but I'm bound by an NDA on
this one. I think Gary's suggestion that 3ds is using some of the
same code for depth cueing as for fogging is probably correct. In
any case, the problem is resolved by turning off depth cueing. The
end result isnt really that significant for my task at hand anyway.
Just try rendering any project with distance cueing on, render the
alpha, and then have a look at it with Photoshop or whatever. I think
youll see what I'm talking about. Thanks much for the quick response
to my question however. Probably be talking to you again!
If you've got fog on, it'll screw up the alpha because the background color
will become fogged. Distance cueing might be running through that same code.
Send a project file to Jonas and he'll check it out for you.
