It just occured to me that Flicker Fixer could double as a poor man's (well,
rich man's, no poor man's…after the purchase) Polaroid Palette. The thing
that makes PP nice is how it fills in the scan lines so it is not obvious you
are looking at a slide of a computer screen. Flicker Fixer does that. Screen
shots should approach PP quality.
All the usual caveats about bracketing, using a telephoto lens to flatten out
the screen, and a darkened room to minimize glare still apply…. unless….
you are using the Zenith flat screen monitor. This behemoth has (suprise) a
totally flat screen, no glare, and amazing color saturation.
Does anyone here use a P. Palette? We could agree on a common screen to shoot,
swap photos and report our findings. — Art
Art-thanks for the timely response. Yes, I use the Polaroid Palette. I have
trie d shooting a friend's Zenith/Flicker fixer, but it's not the same. I'll
send you a slide of something commone (something off DPaint, the Gorilla?, or
whateve r you suggest-we have a few in stock; perhpas the `Sanka' slide. ) We
are pleased with the Palette- American Liquid Light is a nightmarewe plead
with them to give us version updates, and are lied to regularly by them. What
else is new?
Ahh, so it wasn't an original idea. Okay. I'll shoot a couple images off the
DPaint distribution disk (is the Gorilla one?) and EPlex my address when I get
