Blowing sand
2 messages in this thread
HELLO,
I'M HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CREAT A BLOWING SAND EFFECT. I HAVE TRIED
PLAYING WITH DISINTEGRATE AND EXPLODE USING VERIOUS SETTINGS, WITH
NOT THE LOOK I'M TRING TO GET. ANYWAY, WHAT I HAVE IS FIVE OBJECTS
CENTERED IN THE SCREEN, THIS OBJECT WERE CRATED IN THE SHAPER WITH
CURVEY TOP AND BOTTOM LINES AND STRAIGHT SIDE LINES, THAN LOFTED AND
PULLED INTO THE 3D EDITOR. I NOW HAVE 5 OBJECTS WHICH HAVE VERTICES
VERING FROM 354 TO 724 AND FACE VERYING FROM 640 TO 1444.
I THEN WHENT INTO THE KEYFRAMER AND SET MY KEY FRAMERS TO 120. ON
KEY FRAME 0. I SELECTED OBJECT/ATTRIBUTES AND SELECTED EACH OF THE
OBJECTS AND STARTED WITH DEFAULT SETTINGS FOR BOTH IPAS EFFECTS.
WHAT I'M TRING TO CREATE IS TO HAVE THE FIVE OBJECTS BE A
BACKGROUND FOR A FLYING LOGO FOR 50 FRAMES AT THIS POINT I'M WANTING
TO SEPERATE THE FIVE OBJECT VERTICALY WITH A SPACE BETWEEN EACH. AT
THIS POINT, FRAME 60, I'M WANTING TO SEE THESE OBJECTS TO EXPLODE AND
BLOW ACROSS THE SCREEN TO THE RIGHT. THIS EFFECT CAN LAST TO FRAME
120, OR THROUGH VIDEO POST BE FADE OUT OR HAVE A EMPTY SCREEN.
WHERE I'M HAVING PROBLEMS IS TO START THE EFFECT ON FRAME 60. AND
THAN OF COURSE WHAT SETTING TO USE? TO GET A BREAKUP OF THE FIVE
OBJECTS AND THAN MOVING OR BLOWING THEM OFF SCREEN. I'M USEING THE
RIGHT IPAS? CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THE SETTINGS? IS THERE A GOOD TIME
TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU DURING THE DAY? IS THERE IN OTHER TUTORIALS
TO WORK THUR IN BECOMING BETTER AT USING IPAS EFFECTS?
I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU, AND YOUR IDEAS. THANK YOU FOR
YOUR TIME IN HELPING ME.
John,
First, it might be kind of tough to make a blowing sand effect with
disintegrate or explode. Snow might be easier, but none of them are
built for the dynamics that blowing sand would need.
You mentioned that you're using the default settings for the AXP's…
there really are no "defaults" You've got to set them up from
scratch for each particular scene.
It sounds like you're having problems with the Time Envelope. Have
you thoroughly read that section in the manual and have taken apart
the examples?
Re your question about getting in touch with me… I spend as much
time as I can (more than I should, actually) here on ASOFT. PS: Try
typing your messages with the CAPS LOCK key off. It'll make them
much easier to read.
