Hi there rick, I've jsut finished reading a review on the CD32 FMV (full motion video) Expansion system. The long and short of it is that Philips decided to do a dirty on some of its competitors, having agreed a standard which will be compatible with all systems (MPEG green book) they then made a deal with a major film company to produce the first 50 movies on CD Rom which strangely did not follow that standard. The idea is clear by doing this they get a jump ahead of the market… BUT! some genius at C= really went and earned his salary, apparently the FMV was delayed because at the last minute news of the diabolical scheme was uncovered and like the good boys they are C= altered the FMV units so that they not only play the CD32 videos and pop music/video CD's but also the CD videos from philips. So there you have it for the best games machine with CD Rom video look no further, Oh out of interest the Reviewers tried the CD32 videos on the Philips CDI system and guess what…. Yep ya guessed it BIG FAT ZERO!!! Other advice reference Mail order, if ya buy something with a major credit card, say Mastercard/American Express you get automatic insurance, so if the thing is broken when you get it, MC or AE will refuse to pay the dealer and will even fight the court battle.
