Is there a way to convert an Autocad DWG file to something that 3DSr3
can use without Autocad? I just down loaded NCC170.DWG from this
forum and I can't figure out how to get it into 3DS.
Andy – do you know anyone who owns AutoCAD who could make a DXF for
you? If not, you'll need to get a conversion program that will
probably set you back in the ballpark of $100 or so… worthwhile if
you've got lots, but expensive if it's a one-off. Let me know if you
want some product info… (and won't it be great when 3D Studio can
read a DWG!).

Andy, I grabbed NCC170.DWG with the intention of converting it, but it
appears to be missing some essential xref files. I sent email to
73663,3715 about this – I'll let you know what I find out. I'd be
glad to send you a 3DS file or upload the converted model (with
permission) once I get it straightened out.
