What "lots of commercial stuff" won't run? So far I have found only Mindwalker to be recalcitrant, but that has to do with the fact that it boots up WorkBench. Should be OK after being copied to a 1.2 WB disk. I'll try it. Regards, Larry. ps. Still running my 68010, so if there are any anomalies there, I'll let you know that too.

Let's see — Music Studio doesn't run, Rogue isn't too crazy about it, a couple of the EA things (I have them all and don't remember which had problems). But, at this point, since 1.2 is in beta and nowhere near final (nor do they claim it to be) I expect it to have problems with existing software. I'm not about to start moving everything I have over to it _yet_.

Funnyest thing Steve. I just tried getting onto this system using 1.2 and Online!. What I got was garbage characters after I got on to the system. I would type an A and send a 4 'O' would give me a 'u' etc. Rebooted with 1.1 and no problem here I am now. Will call MSS and ask them.

I had exactly that same problem, I re-booted and now am running OnLine! under the beta 2 version and all is quite well. I don't know if it mattered or not, but I booted off of drive 0: (as usual) and had OnLine! in drive 1 (also tried it in drive 2–works fine there also). I CD to drive DF1: and then just run OnLine from the CLI and it works like a champ. I think the last time I tried it and got the garbage, I was trying to run from the desktop and that is what may have trashed it.

How true. I am using it _extensively_ but seldom fire up the games. Halley Project runs fine, as do the assembler, Lattice, Manx, the assembler, etc. I'm addicted to interlaced mode now. <sigh> Regards, Larry.

Watch out on Manx — it does not run correctly under 1.2.
