Larry, it seems we are exchanging messages LIVE. Yes, my IBM drive seems to
work fine in IBM mode (it is an IBM ds/dd drive.) One strange thing though is
that I have to turn it on BEFORE I turn on the AMIGA and turn it OFF after I
turn the Amiga off. Otherwise the Amiga wouldn't boot or would make both 3
1/2 inch drives tick very VERY fast if I turn off the IBM drive first. It
seems that this is due to the weird design of the cable that saves on
latching circuitry and does some other trick instead. Somebody did it at
work, and I really didn't open the case to look at it. At any rate, it works
fine in IBM mode as long as I follow the above guidelines. The Amiga mode is
a different story. I know I didn't write exactly what happened but that's
because I have a bad memory. At any rate, I tried it again and here's what
happened: I did a successful mount. Then DISKCHANGE didn't work. I did a
format command anyway and the system crashed. Oh well, probably is the
interface design's fault. Fadi
