Mike, The screen boots up in a central position on our european monitors…. I wasn't able to test it on a USA Amiga, so yes, its possible that it is slightly offcentre. There is no way of adjusting this (short of me, re-assembling the program) since it has its own internal Operating System and ignores the normal Amiga one, so adjusting PREFERENCES won't help. Each drive on an Amiga requires over 32 k of buffer space. We were so short on space that we decided to only support the internal drive, since that is guaranteed to exist in everyone's Amigas. Also, we didn't like the idea of the master disk saving its high scores on top (a sure way to corrupt disks and cause eventual problems), so we put a bit of code in that told the user to remove the master disk, and it actually won't let you continue the program until it senses a disk being removed and a new one inserted. As far as I know, it IS possible to copy StarGlider onto a hard disk, but the highscore save and load will always be off drive 0 (floppy). You can always ignore the high score saving, and reply NO to the questions, if you dont care about your high score being saved. The musical instruments, and all the sound effects in StarGlider, were digitised and edited by ourselves. None is 'synthesized' by the Amiga itself although a lot of them were done on commercial synthesizer keyboards and then digitised later. We did consider a training mode where you can be indestructible, but since it is just a game, and you dont lose any quarters.. its easier just to allow people a few games worth of experience. Don't forget, Level 1 gameplay was inentionally VERY easy… just you wait 'til Level 2! Bally has bought the rights to StarGlider as a Coin-Op game for the new A500 based coinop machines, and I suspect their version of StarGlider will have training modes and other subtle changes, since you can't provide a Novella hanging on a piece of string next to an Arcade Machine… (.. or can you? Grin!) — Jez.

I have Starglider booted on my Amiga and it is centered just fine. Reviewer, try moving the H.Position knob all the way to the left.
