I have had trouble with two different VGA cards with my 2386SX BB. One
was locking the BB completely. The first was a Mach512 VGA VESA
compatible. The second is a Computer City house brand half meg
VGA/SVGA also VESA compatiblele , which is giving me memory error
messages duting BB boot-up. Is VESA not compatible w/ BB's and if so
can anyone tell me of a 1/2 or one Meg. VGA card that does work for
them? Please help as this problem has had things tied up for a month
now. I am "wanting" to load Windows to permit operation of CD-ROM
software that demands it. I have studiously avoided Windows for years
but no longer can> Thanks in advance for helping.
VESA should not be a problem in Windows with the BB since it's the
configuration that I'm using. I think you might have to check your
VGA card manual to see if you want to shadow the VGA memory or not
and change your BB setup accordingly, this is the only thing I can
think of that may be causing some the memory errors. Catya,
