Does anyone know how to change the bitmap NT displays when it puts up the Logon
Dialogue. The system seems to use WINNT.BMP in the SYSTEM32 directory and
replacing this changes the bitmap, but it seems that there should be a registry
entry for this.

You can change the default background bitmap used at the Windows NT
logon screen by modifying a value in the Registry. To do so, use the
following procedure:
WARNING: Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE) is a very powerful utility
that allows you to directly change the Registry Database. Using
Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems, including
hard disk corruption. It may be necessary to reinstall the software
to correct any problems. Microsoft does not support changes made
with Registry Editor. Use this tool at your own risk.
1. Start Registry Editor (REGEDT32.EXE).
2. Locate and select the following Registry subkey:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
3. Select the Wallpaper value and choose String from the Edit menu.
4. In the String field, type the full name of the bitmap, including
the full path if the file is not located in the SYSTEM32 directory.
5. Exit Registry Editor to save the changes.
The next time you logon, the bitmap you chose should be displayed.
