Dear 3DS'ers; I just did my first upload, a file called "neozoic1.zip", which contains a GIF image along with an explanatory text. It has to do with using 3DS to create your own hypothetical paleozoic creatures, a conceptual creative paradigm I tentatively call "neozoics". I have several of these things already constructed, plus many more gestating around in the byte tank.. My main motivation for divulging this general concept is to pique the interest of other modelers/animators, perhaps to get a little game going, as in who can make the wierdest, the funniest, the prettiest, the most scientifically viable, etc. A kind of "Mr. Potato-Head" for lay paleontologists…<g>. (while keeping one's own individual models & illustrations proprietary, of course) Regards to all, John Gummere =SP=

I'm interested in playing along, but couldn't find NEOZOIC1.ZIP? Where did you put it?

I just looked & didn't see it there either. It's now Sunday afternoon 2/27 & I uploaded it (or thought I did) Friday 2/25. Like I say this is my first time doing that, & there were a few fits & starts with the labeling & all (BTW I forgot to mention it's now NEOZOI.ZIP because they truncate your 8 chars to 6). Maybe give it a few more days & if nothing I'll inquire with sysops and/or try it again. I used the binary option because it's both text & GIF in a zip file. Hope that's right.. Looking forward to hearing what you think, at any rate. Thanks for your interest, John Gummere =SP= (PS- I'm just about to move into new digs this week <1st time homeowner!> so my CIS'ing may get delayed a little)

Christopher, I'm sure you uploaded it fine, it just hasn't been merged with the rest of the libraries. When a file is uploaded, it goes into a "holding tank" to be reviewed by a sysop (virus scanned, etc.) and then merged with the rest of the files. This happens every business day. We also try to make it happen on the weekends too, but it doesn't always happen. You just got caught in the lag time after we merged on Friday, but before we merged on Monday. -Brian
