<< what IPAS's are coming down the line..>>
Hi Jonas,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I saw those and am anxiously awaiting their
release, as well as skin.axp. What I meant was it would be desireable (to me)
to have routines very similar to FWORKS, SNOW, SPURT, EXPLODE, DISINT, etc.
"enhanced" by IPAS3 capabilities including interactivity in the K/F.
On the other subject, PIXAR/VALIS type proc. textures, I believe Gary hit
the nail on the head with his "not very challenging" asessment. This is very
unfortunate though (albeit common), as these are "basic tools" with very
powerful results on the impact of an image or animation…..not to mention the
memory useage savings as R3 *really* seems to eat it up w/r/t previous
versions. (I've only very limited experience with this program, especially
before R3 – but it sure *seems* this is true from my recent experiments).
However, the noise/turbulence – derived basic textures could be
substantially improved upon allowing more parameters to control, etc., and some
of the more unusual ones such as fuzz/hair/bristles and those involving
displacement mapping (procedurally generated), seem like they would be
challenging – but I'm certainly no programmer, so what the H*** do I know ? <g>

Bill,

Thanks for your insights. I hope some of the many
IPAS programmers out there now and all of the
other programmers that may join the IPAS3 ranks
hear your comments and will produce the routines
you desire.
Maybe it's time again to create a IPAS wishlist for
the new programmers to see. This was done awhile
ago and there's been indications from Gary and others
they they heard us and are implementing specific
routines.

Hi Jonas,
Cerainly sounds like they are up to some interesting stuff, that's for
sure. I missed the last IPAS wishlist, I'm sorry to say. B/T/W, do you know if
my Fish.zip & Rube.jpg uploads ever got straightened out? The last few days
I've been plagued with comm. problems, and trying to get a couple of CIS
navigator programs to work as well. I can't find those files, or I get garbage,
cut-off, etc.. Just curious. THANKS.
Bill
" do you know if my Fish.zip & Rube.jpg uploads ever got straightened out?"
I take it you've seen that they're up — 20 downloads for FISH.ZIP already!
It's nice work, very atmospheric.
Nik
Hi Nik,
Yes, I finally was able to "see" the file area. Thanks for the comments.
I've just be plauged – all of a sudden – with comm. problems galore, don't
know why. Can't get either the Dvorak or CIS Navigators to work either.
Everyone here has been super helpful though, …has to be some kind of hardware
thing with my modem. Anyway, thanks again. This is an amazing forum.
Regards,
Bill

<< …IPAS Routines..>>
You should write up a description of your routines that are shipping
so that they can be included in the IPAS.txt file found in section
#9.
