CTX Monitor use
1 messages in this thread
Bruce,
I've purchased a NEC JC-1401P3A Multisync 13 inch monitor here locally
from a man who was willing to sell it for less than half the published
price of the CTX monitor. (And no shipping & handling except for gas and
time to pick it up and socialize a little!) It's running in analog mode.
I'm still learning how to use it. Now the 386 bridgeboard (BB) is
just a little window on my Workbench screen to activate the
keyboard. Learning how to clip stuff from the VGA display for
transfer to the Amiga and back is obviously going to be a different
procedure. I had to drop the use of the DRDOS memory manager because
it was crashing or stopping the BB when it tried to open a EMS frame
at E000H. Either no manager or the Janus manager works. I need to
tweak my BB memory management still to get WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS to
have enough to use graphics mode. It still restricts itself to text
mode.
I loaded Norton Commander 3.0 because it has a screen blanker. The
Amiga screen blanker has no jurisdiction over the BB monitor. Later, I
may use a switchbox to display Amiga stuff on the multisync; however, it's
one step or two at a time.
Sincerely,
