#A2620 Problems???
3 messages in this thread
I have borrowed an A2620 card from an Amiga 2500 to try in my 2000
which has a bridgeboard, the 2058 RAM, and an GVP HC-80 hard card. It
really screams in its normal 68020/68881 operating mode BUT…
When I do the "Three Fingered Salute" it does NOT give the selection
screen for 68000/68020/68020 UX! It just sits there flashing the power LED
until I release the mouse buttons. Then it tries to boot and crashes
(Software Error 2.00C01570).
If I remove the GVP HC80 hard card (with auto boot) and use a
WorkBence 1.3 3.5" disk for the system, After I reboot I get the selection
screen and everything works just fine.
Does anyone know what the GVP hard disk with auto-boot could be doing
to cause this situation? Any guesses or ideas as to what I could try? Its
obvious that I can't get in touch with GVP this weekend.
Yes, it's the GVP. It's a known problem to them and should be fixed
shortly.
I know that the GVP HC 80 will *NOT* work with the 68000 mode in the
A2500… the compyuter won't let you boot in that mode… GVP realised
that 2 or 3 weeks ago… a fix and probably new drivers are coming…
